Butler County GOP Endorsed Candidates

The Butler County Republican Committee announces their endorsement of GOP Candidates that will appear on the Primary ballot, that were decided at the County Caucus at Holly Pointe in Butler, PA on Saturday, February 29.

This was the first Endorsement Meeting for the Butler GOP Committee.  The candidates were nominated, seconded and given an opportunity to speak before a vote was taken.  The Committee people in the legislative districts for each race were authorized to cast a vote.  In contested races, a margin of at least 60% the vote was required for a candidate to be endorsed. Committee people asked the Secretary cast a unanimous ballot for GOP Candidates in the uncontested races.

For the Butler County GOP Endorsed Candidates in the contested races, Sean Parnell, in the 17th Congressional District, and Daryl Metcalfe, in the 12th State House District, received 100% of the vote, and Marci Mustello, in the 11th  State House District, received 80% of the vote in her district, with two abstentions. The contested race in the vacant 8th State House District was decided by 60% of the vote for Tim Bonner.

64th District: R. Lee James.

Butler County Republican Committee Chair, Al Lindsay, said, “I was excited to see a majority of our Republican Committee people, candidates and elected officials in our Congressional and Legislative Districts attend and participate. Our goal is to find good candidates and get them elected.”
